Mimo Khair

I am a Lebanese American photographer based in Düsseldorf, Germany, working across fine art, street, and documentary photography. For over three decades, my work has explored the relationship between people and place, shaped by long observation and a quiet attention to everyday life.

My work has taken me across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, often in close collaboration with communities in sensitive and humanitarian contexts. Through this, I have learned the importance of working with care, trust, and presence, allowing stories to emerge from within rather than being imposed from the outside.

Lens Tribe Global grew out of these experiences. It is a way to shift the narrative toward photographers who are living the realities they document, and to create space for their voices to be seen and shared through visual storytelling.

I am a communications and partnerships professional with a focus on storytelling, cultural initiatives, and building meaningful connections across communities. My work centers on supporting projects that amplify voices, foster collaboration, and create space for underrepresented perspectives.

Through my experience across international environments, I have developed a strong interest in initiatives that combine creativity with social impact. I am particularly drawn to work that brings together visual storytelling and community engagement.

At Lens Tribe Global, I contribute to shaping the foundation of the initiative, supporting its development, outreach, and the growth of a network rooted in collaboration and shared purpose.

I am based between the UK and East Africa and have been working with the refugee and migrant community internationally since 2015.

I serve as the Academic Director and College Counselor at Elimisha Kakuma, a refugee-led university access program in Kakuma Refugee Camp. Through my work, I support a small group of students each year as they navigate the university application process, working closely with them to shape personal statements that truly reflect their voices and experiences.

Working alongside these students, I have witnessed the powerful ripple effects that can come from investing in a single story. This belief in the transformative power of storytelling, combined with my commitment to refugee-led initiatives, is what brings me to Lens Tribe.

Before joining Elimisha, I interned with the Borderlands Theater Project and collaborated with several migrant storytelling initiatives in Minnesota, USA.

I am a Swiss artist and architect, and my practice bridges fine art, architecture, and humanitarian research. Working primarily with photography, drawing, and material experimentation, I explore questions of housing, belonging, and displacement.

I hold a BA in Fine Arts from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), a BA in Architecture from ETH Zurich, and a Master’s in International Cooperation: Sustainable Emergency Architecture from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC Barcelona). This program focused on developing and rebuilding communities affected by urbanization, poverty, conflict, and disaster.

While I consider Switzerland home, I live a more nomadic life, shaped by an ongoing interest in how artistic and architectural processes can create connections between people, place, and culture.

I am the CEO and Co-founder of gigthree ltd, a tech-enabled talent management startup working at the intersection of the gig economy and the future of work. My professional path has been shaped by more than twenty years of international experience across the United Nations, governments, intergovernmental organizations, and non-governmental organizations.

My work has focused on the humanitarian, development, and knowledge management sectors, with a strong emphasis on communications, advocacy, fundraising, and building teams that can translate vision into action. I have led the creation of new offices and operations from the ground up, bringing together networks of partners across the private sector, international organizations, research institutions, and governments.

What brings me to Lens Tribe is a shared belief in the importance of creating meaningful structures that support voices from within. As a Strategy Advisor, I contribute to shaping the long-term direction of the initiative, helping it grow with intention, integrity, and a strong foundation for impact.

Lea Mourhege

I am an architecture student based in Düsseldorf, currently completing my Bachelor of Arts. My connection to art and creativity began early in my life, growing up in Shanghai, and has continued to shape how I see and engage with the world.

My interest in design is closely tied to movement and exploration. Through travel and encounters with different cultures, I am constantly seeking to expand my understanding of how people relate to space, and how architecture can reflect those connections.

Alongside my academic work, I draw and develop architectural projects, while photography has become an essential extension of my practice. Through architectural photography, I explore how to capture the essence of a space through my own perspective, observing the details, structures, and moments that often go unnoticed.

What draws me to Lens Tribe is its focus on how people shape and are shaped by their environments, especially in contexts where place and belonging are constantly evolving. I am interested in how visual storytelling can help bring these relationships into view with sensitivity and depth.
